Jack Draper Appoints Jamie Delgado as Lead Coach for 2026 Season
Jack Draper, a British tennis star, has picked Jamie Delgado to be his new main coach just before the 2026 season starts. Besides, the fame of Jamie Delgado, coming from his accomplished collaboration with Andy Murray, imparts a huge amount of knowledge to the team of Draper.
23-year-old Draper, holding the position of No. 8 in the ATP rankings, is recuperating from a left arm injury, which unfortunately caused the end of his 2025 season prematurely.
It should be noted that Delgado, who was with Andy Murray from 2016 to 2021, has also worked with Denis Shapovalov and Grigor Dimitrov. With this manoeuvre, Draper intends to leverage his career performance, which was at No. 4 in the ATP rankings in June 2025.
In this new configuration of the coaching team, James Trotman, the longtime coach of Draper, will be less involved in travelling but still on board with the team. James Trotman will be less committed to travelling but will stay connected with the team.
Delgado is likely to be with Draper during most of the tournaments, thus allowing Draper to have his support and guidance during the season.
Draper will train with Delgado for the off-season, starting from November with a stint in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown, London, this December, being his first competitive match back. Then, in January 2026, he will compete in the Australian Open, which is considered his full ATP Tour comeback.
This change of coaches symbolises Draper’s readiness to improve his game and attain long-term success in the ATP Tour. Draper, with Delgado’s skills and his team solidly behind him, is looking forward to 2026 with great expectations.
